In 2006 Mitchells and Butlers plc purchased approximately 250 licensed outlets from Whitbread plc. In order to maximise the benefits accruing from the purchase sites had to be assimilated into the main estate as quickly as possible, and required that the Mitchells and Butlers EPoS system was installed into each site and payroll details imported to ensure the smooth transition of information into the Payroll department to enable the staff were paid on time. There was a further requirement to support the site during the first days trading and ensure that trading was unaffected by the transfer.
As the sites were not going to be closed at any time during the day of Implementation it was vital that the Whitbread system was de-installed and the Mitchell’s and Butlers system was installed in a timescale that ensured the site could trade as normal during the day.
In January 2007 Agora Solutions Ltd was asked to provide Implementer/Trainers to Mitchell’s and Butlers to accomplish the transfer.
Trainers were selected based on their knowledge and experience gained working within the hospitality sector.
The project was successfully completed on time, installing 125 outlets during an 8 week period, with no disruption either to trade or staff payroll requirements.
